Montreal’s Otakuthon – Palais des congres de Montreal

I went to Montreal’s Otakuthon which is hosted in Canada, Montreal - Palais des congres de Montreal. The event runs from the 13th till the 15th of August. I went on Saturday, August the 14th, 2010 to experience my first Anime convention and I believe it was well worth the trip taken.

There is no love for Shinkis here, no Figma Rider, and no Kitsune masks :(. Ah well. A lot of people were purchasing Gundam kits and a few wall scrolls. Nice nice.

I didn’t purchase anything as nothing caught my eye, that much. Saving up for future figures that are releasing soon.

Random image of an Anime being shown on big screen. I would of loved to watch but the subtitles were all in French, ah well. They had Kampfer, Angel Beats, Yuri anime and all them.

Its Himeka’s last minute on stage when everybody stood up to cheer her on. Shhh! This image doesn’t exist.  This image isn’t here, its part of your imagination ^^. Ya, we weren’t allowed to take pictures and if you tried some person would come up to tell you not to.

I saw people taking images so it’ll pop up onto the web either way. Plus, you can’t see anything anyways.

Since I couldn’t take images or video I’ll just embed other Youtube concerts into here. If Youtube removes the videos then let me know, or I’ll switch them when I notice the pull.

– Himeka Live – Mirai e Senkou no Night Raid

– Himeka – Fate/Stay Night – Second ED

– Himeka – Yuzurenai Negai

Do check out my previous article about – Canadian Pride in Anime. Have Himeka and various Canadians featured in Anime related material.

The autograph I got at Otakuthon’s 7th floor. Kinda screwed up by saying my name but ah well, whatever lol. An autograph is an autograph :P. Thanks Himeka! She was extremely kind to everybody she signed the autograph to. Her assistants, kind as well. Nice! Oh, and you guys are welcome ^^.

The two cosplayers below had a fun time on the skinny escalator. Domo had to be moved sideways and I got stuck to the side of the escalator by the Mario bullet heh.

And a sad parting with Montreal’s Otakuthon for 2010 :(. Ah well, got other conventions to look forward to. Shall cover Naru2u and G-Anime this year, if nothing gets in my way. Before I allow you depart I got a few more images to show to transition out of the article heh.

I left the convention with a name tag, an unnecessary metro pass, a signed Himeka poster, lots of images and a few videos of Otakuthon. It was well worth the trip even if some things didn’t go as planned. I also learned that Montrealers are insane. They drive in an insane manner and they’re always in a rush. With their constant zig-zagging I’m pretty their cars end up lodged in trees or street lamps every few days. Chill! You got you’re whole future ahead of you. No need to speed from one area to the next. Learn from the Cubans and take your time haha.

*Was jesting. If you bring up traffic jams then thats “understandable” ^^.
