Sharbot Lake trip w/Figma Saber & Signum

For those that have been lurking on my forum may have noticed a “trend” of me saying “for a change of scenery I decided to  -here- to take pictures of Figmas“. Well, to continue that trend I shall now say:

For a change of scenery I decided to take pictures of my Figma’s outside of Ottawa, at Sharbrot Lake.

Only for Figmas? Of course not. I assisted with some minor tasks. Taking pictures of Figmas was just me taking advantage of different scenery.

(All images were taken with a Lumix GF1 – Pancake lens.)

That building (above image) used to be known as the Corel Center. Now it is known as “The Scotiabank Place“. For those viewing this article from Ottawa-Kanata would know that already and that this place is the home arena/ice rink of the Ottawa Senators (NHL – Hockey team). For those that aren’t, well, this is where the Toronto Maple Leafs try to get their losing team to win through swarming numbers of mindless fans and corrupted referees instead of playing a just quality game.

And then some random construction for those wanting to see some random Canadian construction sites.

Or maybe someone might be interested in seeing a bridge being constructed?

Ended up stopping at Perth to eat some Hot Dogs with some onion dressing on it. This might be my fourth or fifth hot dog gained from an event or a trip to places heh.

Also made a quick stop to Tim Hortons as someone wanted Hot Chocolate and was gifted some Tim Bits. I was also surprised to see people being friendly down there. Everybody held the door open for others, where as its a 50/50 chance in Ottawa. It might be less then that elsewhere according to the local media’s statistics.

mmmm, Timbits.

And a natural look at the Canadian shield.

I hope you’re prepared with anti-Mosquito traps or chemical formulas as this place is swarming with them. Down one and two takes it’s place. I had to use my sweater’s hood to cover exposed parts of my head, damn Mosquitos.

Well, lets take advantage of the scenery and start posing the Figmas before we get bitten to death by the Mosquitos!

If you couldn’t tell, Signum was on big rock looking down at the water surrounding her.

My Thoughts:
Please don’t drop the camera in the water, Please don’t drop the camera in the water, Don’t slip, Please don’t drop the camera in the water, Please don’t drop the camera in the water.

Nearly slid into the water while trying to pose them on the tree trunk. Good thing a tree was in the way to prevent me from falling into the water.

Figma Photoshoot break time.

*Goes back to enjoying the scenery*

So, apparently this plant – Trillium – is used as the logo for the Government of Ontario’s emblem. According to Wiki it seems to be true – Wikipedia’s Government of Ontario reference. Thought people who haven’t known this would find that interesting.

And back to more Figma Photoshooting, while I still have the chance.

And with that, its time to head back home again. Well, right after a Squirrel snatches one of the Pizza crusts I left there. There were two that kept chirping every-time they moved an inch.

Back through Perth for more Timbits…….

And now to go full circle by wrapping up this article with the Scotiabank Place.

Hmm, I put together a quick video of the Squirrels from Sharbot, Ontario region.

Now that was an interesting change of scenery if I do say so myself. The Squirrels were hilarious with their chirping. Hope you enjoyed the article and hope to see a few comments if you guys wouldn’t mind posting as I’ll be spamming this blog with some Tulip Festival material this May.
