With Canada Day being somewhat prolonged into a long weekend I thought I’d extend it into one more article. I would also like to take the time to wish the Americans a Happy Independence Day! We get to celebrate our nation’s birthday in a short period of time. I’m merging Saturday and Sunday morning into this article as there aren’t that many pictures.

(Side-note: No American related images, sorry :(. Images may also be random, though still somewhat fit with article.)

Just some random truck graffiti. This truck is on Bank Street, across Vistek. A friend wanted a new camera so we ventured over to this place. Sadly, they didn’t have what he wanted :(. If interested you can check out Nesh’s blog here – http://lulone.wordpress.com/
And the image below can also be found along Bank Street, heading closer towards the #2 bus stop that heads towards Parliament.
If my city likes graffiti so much I’ll take the time to pick out the best ones and share them. Bonus points to whoever paints up a positive Canadian themed or a foreign influenced one.

I’m not a big fan of tags and graffiti, but I’ll admit that there are some pretty good ones hidden amongst those made in boredom.
Below – Bank Street and Somerset….almost quiet.

Just something random….but……..that orange sign looks like it has a face. Do you see it?

Stopped by at Preston Street to try out some ice cream. Everybody on Bank Street and Preston were watching the Spanish game at every available pubs. Girls were screaming their lungs out all the time and the Spanish fans were everywhere. The Spanish fans invaded Little Italy.

The staff were nice and the ice cream I had was probably the best I’ve tasted in Ottawa. I had three scoops of Vanilla ice cream in a waffle cone which tasted good.
I had to pay first though and then bring the receipt to the other staff to get that ice cream though. Why? I don’t know, but I’ll take a guess and say that people ran off with the ice cream cones before. It doesn’t really matter as you will be getting what you want anyways.
Would I recommend this? Sure, why not? They have a great selection of ice cream and lots of cakes. I didn’t get a great look but I can still recommend it.

A Ferrari! I believe this is a Ferrari F430 Spyder as everything still looks brand new.

Kiko Sushi Bar

I also went back to Kiko Sushi Bar to eat out at about an hour later. Thought I’d try something new on the menu and to see how frequently I should keep going back there.
– Udon – (thick rice noodles in a light Japanese style broth served with choice of beef, chicken or tempura).

I’m unsure what this next dish is but I think I narrowed it down to – Beef Tataki (Possibly).

I can easily repeat that the staff are very polite, very friendly, and will assist you if needed . The music is still a great selection of modern chill out tracks and is very easy to listen to, or to mentally shut out (whichever you choose). The food is also very good for the price it is set at and I like Kiko Sushi bar for the atmosphere it sets  as well as the for the food quality they offer. I know I shall be going back to this one!
I’ve tried:
-> 2 pc Salmon Sushi -> I found the sushi extremely pricey, but extremely good. I think it was also pricey because of the thick chunk of Salmon that I was given and the quality of the Salmon.
-> Yaki Udon -> Very good and the reason why I came back. The dish was sizzling when it was brought to me and took me quite a while to finish.
-> Udon w/ Tempura -> The udon noodles were very good and pretty long. Udon soup base itself was very tasty. Tempura? Two prawns and two pine apple slices that you could dip into a special sauce. It was pretty good, I’d recommend this.
-> Beef Tataki (I think) -> It was pretty good and perfectly spicy. With or without the sauce the beef peices was somewhat spicy and tasted very good. The sauce added a nice taste to the beef pieces. The spiciness of it and the taste was satisfying. Is it meant to be spicy? I found mine to be somewhat spicy so I mentioned it. You should try this!
What should I try next? Recommendations?

Part 2 -> Sunday Morning – Changing of the Guards:
I had to see Nesh off so we took the chance to view the guards. I actually found it entertaining, but disliked the loud tourists that kept being….well….loud. Can’t be helped I guess as it is a tourist attraction.
Also did some quick car spotting. I’m always keeping an eye out in case I see another Ferrari or Lamborghini.
