Figma Black Rock Shooter acquired! Figma Black Rock Shooter was delayed from early summer, until late October. The main otaku group around the world obtained her much earlier then I have due to the different supplier. I got mine from my local Anime stop.

I saw one more Black Rock Shooter for someone to obtain in the Ottawa region. Go get her before she disappears! I saw her infront of the cash register :).

I got Figma Black Rock shooter because of the hype, and because I wanted to see how she would behave under my care. I also obtained her for the reason of supporting the BRS line, and my liking of the 50 minute OVA. Speaking of which, she comes with a free OVA for you to watch. Yes, a nice 50 minute gift that comes with the figure. Black Rock Shooter officially orginated from “Huke”, who made the Black Rock Shooter music video.

She comes with a somewhat simplistic background (with Di:Stage punch-out), herself, her accessories, and the free BRS OVA.

The background is quite generic looking, has staff credits and with the help of the light you can see the Di:stage punch-out.

Black Rock Shooter OVA – Bonus DVD-

The dvd is sealed in tight. Just grab some scissors and look for a tiny opening on the top sides, or cut a clean opening on the edges. I already seen the OVA back when it was put up on torrent sites so I didn’t really go ahead and watch it. It was a good show. It just needs it’s other parts/portions to become whole since it left us on a cliffhanger.

And now onto the figure itself, the part you probably care about the most ^^. She’s packaged in a wide plastic packaging. I could say that her packaging is similar to that of Signum.

She comes with:

I actually had weight issues with BRS and the cannon. They just simply loved to tip over and fall every now and again from little vibrations on the table.

And as usual, plastic covering every single portion of her body. Under her moveable jacket, around her belly, on her hair, on her feet….everywhere. I surely hope you guys and gals recycle haha! I mean, if you don’t you’ll find yourself face-to-face with Canada’s Enviromental specialists :P.

The best, and unexpected part, of the figure are the two movable jacket portions of the figure. They have one joint each and may be posed any way you may desire.

Simply look at the details! She has to chest scars, a white star on her front jacket, the belt, her boots, and the zipper on her boots.

So, what do I think? She is a great figure and is well made. However, she has weight issues caused by her hair and canon. Get the balance right and you may get some nice quality images and poses. The canon is light (hollow), but extremely heavy for BRS. As much I dislike using stands, I had to use it once to hold the canon upright. I like the jacket, and the two chains were a nice addition. I’m liking how Max Factory keeps making their figmas.

Pros:

– Great quality figure. Faithful to it’s animated counterpart. Attention to detail was kept and even carefully painted on the figure. Her belly scars, jacket detailing, boot detailing all make the figure stand out in quality.
– Comes with extra accessories. Comes with Canon, sword, extra pair of hands, two chains, and an extra stand base.
– Her additional face-plates allows her to be posed with a bit more expression then “standard” figures/Figmas.
– Comes with BRS OVA.
– Her jacket is articulated by two separate joints.
– Her articulation is similar to that of Vocaloid Rin’s and Casual Sabers (can be posed in any situation).
– Her chains add to her value and may even assist figma photographers with their photography creativity.

Cons:

– She has balancing issues (with and without canon).
– Her legs can’t be posed forward, only backwards.
– Slightest vibration may send BRS (especially with canon) toppling over.
– Has a few minor articulation problems. You may spend many minutes attempting to put BRS into a proper pose on uneven ground, and without a stand.
– Getting her to grasp onto the canon is a bit of a hassle. You have to open up her clentched fist and quickly place her hand onto the desired handle before it folds back into itself.
