Sorry, no Anime on this one until I can get a new bike, or tune my old bike (*hears a cheer from the non-Japanese minded lurkers*). I’m still waiting for the spring bloom before I also try to Figure photoshoot as to make the images look nicer, but the plants are lagging behind for some odd reason. I see the animals are coming back, the grass is going green, and the insects coming out gradually.
I haven’t yet shown the Ottawa River rapids have I? Here is one of them that I tried taking pictures of. Its just cool to look at, and theres a cooler one closer to downtown that I’ll take a picture of later.
(Note: I didn’t shrink the full sized images so they’re going to appear large when to full screen them.)

Saw a quacking duck when I was walking the dog so I tried to get a picture of him quacking. It didn’t quite work out, though I do find the image neat to share.

Nice weather and I enjoyed the nice cool breeze from the river, so pleasant. And like I said; spring is here, the Canadian Geese are swimming around, Ducks are quacking, the grass is going green and the trees are not blooming yet. Lucky son of a Geese get their own beach to play with (not shown in the three pictures below).

And back to the first picture in this article, another angle of that wide rapids. Hmm, I’ll figure out how to brighten up those zoomed images when I go on another walk/figure photoshoot.

Well whats this? People who like to kayak/canoe are back, heh. I swear, everything is in pairs these days, I smell a conspiracy!

Don’t know if you can see it, but the kayakers are slightly hidden by the mini-branches of that tree. Also showing this picture because I tried to fit the Canadian Geese into the picture as well.
I also tried taking picture of the sneaky Beaver, but it just kept hiding. My next goal for this Spring/Summer is to take a picture of a Beaver! I’ll get you eventually! It swam along the rocks and went to check out a log. When it saw me coming closer (though still far from it), it fled. DAMN! I waited for a good 2-3 minutes and then continued walking.

I remember Danny Choo (www.dannychoo.com – from the Anime-blogging-sphere) saying how nice and open Ottawa is. I’ll agree and joke how easy it is to hide aliens and such here. I enjoy seeing a city co-exist with nature where you can go around taking pictures for photoshoots, and various other tasks.
Since its open and still kept wild, you get to see these little fellows crawling around on the bike path. It also went closer to my camera seeing what it is and moved closer to the grass side of the path.

And I got to find out what this kind of bird is, I don’t know what they are called. I’m seeing a lot of people with those professional long lens cameras taking pictures of these birds, while I’m still using my Sony Digital Camera W170.

And like I said, this area I took pictures of the Caterpillar and the bird is popular with photographers.

If you search my previous blog enteries, then you’ll notice that I had Figma Shana in the same area as well as Spring snow quick entry. I’ll try to keep the areas different for every blog entry for the future ones.
Well, hope you enjoyed the quick tour of Ottawa during the non-blooming side of a Canadian Spring. I’ll also be getting back to you with more Anime styled pictures a bit later on when I get a working bike (the pedal kind).

Edit:
Nothing that special, Just goes to show how oblivious I am (we are) with things hiding nearby lol.
I’ve been living in Ottawa for quite some time and I haven’t noticed this piece of ruins that other people seem to know about. I knew about the one closer to downtown, but not this one near Britannia. I thought it was from the 1800’s (yay me), but it ended up being a piece of some old bridge, or a dam. Refer to the first picture again, save it to your desktop and zoom into the walls to the right side of the image.
I’ll borrow Rob Huntley’s blog/photo gallery link and refer you to his picture of these random old (yet modern) ruins, 4th image.
edit#2:
Looks less interesting now but I’ll still go check it out tomorrow.
