Kon! My lovely Renge finally turned into a divine fox spirit! How? By getting a lovely 1/12 Azone made shorty miko dress with a broom. Basically the female shrine outfit that you see at Japanese shrines around Japan, and in Anime. I’ve been looking at getting something neat for my Renge for a long time and finally got such from HobbySearch. I kept checking AmiAmi but had my little issues with it. And because people are calling Shinki dolls, not figures, I’ll treat Renge like a “doll” today. Might as well play along, right? 😛

Funny thing with this Miko outfit was I received it the day before the silly Canada Post strike that’s affecting postal service in Canada. However, the truck did arrive at my location and said “screw it” before heading to the nearby postal office. The guy didn’t try buzzing nor leaving a notice saying that he arrived with my loot. Basically a note telling you he arrived and you have to visit the post office the next day and such; I picked up on same day. I don’t mind the walk to the Postal Office, it’s the way he came and left that bothers me. Anyways, that’s not what I’m trying to ramble on about. I’m supposed to be rambling on about Renge and this miko outfit!

I wanted to review this outdoors but didn’t want to accidentally stain the dress on the first day so images were taken indoors today. Renge also took a meter dive from some plants onto the floor so I kept Renge. Me and Renge…always having our accidents bah. I’m so thankful she didn’t break at all, even if I do have two! What a scary moment. You guys probably shouldn’t trust me with figures….they tend to break easily in my care :(.

Well, that’s that! I’ll be sure to take more pictures of her in outdoor settings. Actually, that is a must because I feel as if I didn’t do justice to the outfit. Needs to be more bright and outdoors somewhere! If anything, she’ll (Renge) get the royal treatment just because of the outfit. Quite lovely, and a bit bulky haha. And ya, I’m playing a bit of a catch up with the outfit now. I’ve noticed many Japanese Shinki owners give their shinkis such 1/12 azone outfits, same with us non-Japanese Shinki fans.
I can’t really give this outfit a pro-con so I’ll just say it was worth the purchase, if a tiny bit over-sized for Shinki use. Renge showed that she could wear it haha! However, Figma’s might have issues wearing them due to their pre-molded clothing so do be careful!

In short: “Kitsune” – Japanese for Fox & fox spirit/familiar. Japanese worship foxes for great harvest and as messengers for news & offerings. Miko’s are shrine priestesses that tend to the shrines.
