Ottawa Plane spotting – 767-300 Air Canada

Hello folks! Finally got around to taking a few images of the plane that I took to-and-from Frankfurt, Germany a few years back. Been wanting to take images of it either taking off or landing at Ottawa for quite a while, even blogging it. Well, here we go!

(All images taken with a Lumix GF-1 – Pancake lens. Added some bloom and brightening to most images.)

Went to the Ottawa Airport to finally take images of a plane I wanted to take images for a long while now – Air Canada 767-300. I didn’t want to only stare at what other people shared on Flickr, Airliners.net or on Tumblr so I took my own, which I can be proud of since I actually took them myself finally.

For those wondering why probably don’t know that I just love anything to do with aviation, transportation, travel, Anime, certain art styles and with music. If it is unique or interesting enough then I love it. Ottawa Airport isn’t that big, but it does have nice planes that you just can’t ignore.

A United Emirates A380 once landed in Ottawa after nearly running out of fuel while circling a flooded Toronto. I saw that A380 coming in for a landing yet couldn’t take an image due to the suddenness of it. Saw Antonov‘s flying overhead constantly, hard taking images of them.

Also nice to see Alert Road was open, yet the runway facing it wasn’t. It made it easier for me to take the image of the Air Canada though. Been to the airport many times and it just doesn’t matter how many times I go when I like something, same with replaying games or re-watching videos.

So worth it!

Other planes – Departures:

Might as well take and share more images of the small planes taking off, right? Was at this point when I was at the T&T Supermarket that I noticed my camera was on manual. Unsure how I got the above Air Canada shots in manual. Regardless of how, I just thanked the fox spirits with a great big smile and some laughter that the shots came out nicely enough for me to enjoy.

Airport Security Van – Hesitated on this because I was more interested in planes, not van. Took the shot a a minute later in a “screw it, why not” manner. Was scanning the area very slowly.

Wasn’t much taking off so I just left feeling happy I got images of what I came for.

And that be it! Thanks for viewing and hope you enjoyed viewing it as much as I had a nice rush taking images of the 767-300. That sound it and larger planes make just sounds so awesome, it gives you a nice rush when you’re into planes.

I envy the plane-spotters in Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto for plane variety……I wish Ottawa still had the 747-400 KLM plane…..I’ll take what I can get though with the variety Ottawa airport has, and with what flew at the time-frame I was there at.

Hope you’re having the last month of summer! Peace!
