Greetings! I wanted to take the time to remember an old Minecraft map that still tugs back at me and the other regulars on occasions. That map where me and my fellow net friends went all out with out Minecraft ideas. I called it Arcticu, though it had a couple other names as well. This article contains 244 images of nostalgia for me and my server mates.
– Silly trio creepers wanting to ruin our colonization of Kitsu and the world.
(All images taken from Minecraft during the Adventure update for two years.)
I wanted to go pay my respects to an old Minecraft map that ended up being mostly irretrievable. All the mods we added to it that corrupted and flooded the map. Me and Dei started it up, then me Perso and Nas continued it from vanilla, eventually dragging it all into a modded mess. We built up Busou Shinki statues, Anime landmarks, and just fun survival things. This map was also a re-build of our looser previous map, along with it being expanded on many times over at that.
Our rule was to do things mostly in survival while leaving Busou Shinki related things to creative mode. We we would try and keep everything in survival as much as possible. We had three large areas with others coming and going leaving a territorial mess; Arcticu Empire, Gouka Nation, Nas’pire, and then scattered little settlements.
This article is also split up into town, city, and outposts names with images going from oldest to newest. Do hope you enjoy!

– Kitsu:
Kitsu is our spawn town. Me and Dei discovered it while coming out of an ocean, taking refuge at the place. We beautified it, making it safer from the mobs. Eventually me, Perso, and Nas all added bits and pieces to it. Kitsu eventually even gained a major airport that was made use of during the planes mod we added. It linked up both Arcticu sectors, Nas’pire, and even Sagatio’s little settlement all together.
I tried my best to keep Kitsu up to my standards of the latest technology. It fell under my territory so I made sure it operated in similar fashion to Arcticu City’s modded tech.
– I MCedited in our archive buildings with all our goods.– Accidentally harassed an Enderman.– Kitsu being a decent place to farm up extra food.– Kitsu’s underground train-station.– Attempting to improve Kitsu some more with a water tower for scenic tourist purposes.– For the fun of it I even tried adding out avatar’s faces to brighten spawn up with.
– Gave Kitsu an airport for both appearance and planes mod. Airport was actually used.– Even went out of my way to tech-up Kitsu to keep it in tech with Arcticu City’s tech.– It was mostly powered by deep water.– Nas transferring goods to his Sky Haven home at Kitsu station.– Kitsu finally saw use with planes. It was worthwhile, just hard to fly.
– Welcoming Sagatio on the map, though he didn’t stay long.

– Arcticu City – Food Sector:
I was seeking out a place to set up my main city. I turned it into a little town dealing with mining and food related goods. Even went out of my way to make a scenic railway network linking back to Kitsu and eventually into main Arcticu City. It was a small desert island.
– A small abandoned village easily harassed by Enderman.– Adding a railway & blacksmith to keep everything connected.– Taking refuge in the only safe building – Blacksmith.– Water rail tunnel connecting Kitsu to Arcticu City.– A farm being upped on a peaking side of the island.– A very helpful tunnel connecting & supplying the map.
– Enderman having its way with the abandoned village before the update.– A view of the train station that links to Arcticu City and Kitsu and farm; Village on the top; artificial dark-wood forest for wood supplies.– Mini-Restaurant next to the railway.– Turning the area green; A mining building to the right.– Nas checking out one of my temp homes.– The great farm that fed my growing Empire.– A top-down view of the farm.– My map was around when baby farm animals were introduced. I even added an animal farm to the area.– Copying Persocom’s cold storage I decided to make a snowman zoo to obtain snowballs for a new building.– Leveled a giant sand hill to build a fancy indoor garden.
– I had to split each animal up to deal with them appropriately.
—
– Gouka:
Persocom managed to found Gouka before I could with Arcticu. He traveled very far and built up his settlement happily in far away land. It would turn into his capital with Gabrine as the Shinki representative to the area. Gouka managed to grow swiftly, just like Arcticu did in my area. It was in second place in tech and tourist attractions.
– Bugging Persocom with Mushrooms.– Perso with his Shinki skin and home to his right.
– Even at its lowest, Gouka was a lovely place to visit.– I went all out in pranking Persocom with what I called an NPC Village type Pyramid. I added a lovely garden and all near his Gouka city.
– A lovely garden for your viewing pleasure.
– Me and my server mates all playing with an Enderman in a minecart.– At the edge of Gouka we played with TNT for the fun of it. This area would then become Perso’s modded district.– Skyline of Gouka improves all that much more.– Perso and is constant building experiments. I love it.
– Persocom’s Gabrine statue. GAAOOO!~– Peaking at Persocom’s town from his hotel.– Gouka’s trading-market square.– Persocom’s cold storage based on the Pokemon’s Black & White’s cold storage. Contains snowman within.– Gifted Persocom the Gabrine gun from the first map we played on.– Many new buildings were being constructed; Standing on an Inn with a bank being built to left and magic stuff to right.– Screwing around in-between constructing things.– Persocom’s teleportation gate. We would step through the flag and into our area.– Gouka went insane with buildings, in a good way. A new bat statue!– Perso displayed his Ender-eggs in front of the Gabrine statue.– Perso even placed his Dragon eggs in his Ender Museum.– Playing in one of Perso’s battle arenas because Kashi likes fighting a lot.

– Arcticu City:
The high and mighty Arcticu Empire starts with the birth of Arcticu City once more! This being a skyscraper version of the one previous. I was slow in founding this one, but when I did a train station linked every single location on the map in one manner or another. Arcticu became the hub of the map with Renge statues proudly displaying the importance of this city.
My city took up a desert due to wasted space that biome created. I didn’t have to worry about rain.
– Arcticu Train-station being built.
– The birth of the city hall.– Up the city-hall goes.
– I’ll admit that my city hall reminds me of that tower in Half-Life 2.– Upping a twin office building type tower.– My growing city had one of the best sunsets.– Growth!– One of Nas’s building that stayed incomplete for a long while.– Shopping mall, Nas’s HQ, Two office buildings, City hall, and train station.– Arcticu’s Shopping mall that would only grow larger.– My attempt at an apartment complex. It saw a brief life until I destroyed it.– Far right containing what would become the bank. Constantly experimenting with buildings myself.– Christmas tree added with a Renge statue.– Normal and Santa Renge at the downtown area.
– Attempted to beautify the main mall’s roof. I believe I pumped it higher after adding more floors.– Gave Arcticu City some IC2 power by making a powerplant. It didnt’ really suit the area in retrospect.– Arcticu’s main library and a scenic skyscraper being constructed.– The tower now being held up by the glass.– Building what was supposed to be a museum. I’m not building that, or rebuilding that again! If I do, it’ll be half the size.
– Was attempting to build an upside down “U” building you see on Google skyscraper concepts.– I decided to copy what I built over at Mario city into Arcticu (background right).– Skyscraper boom. Wanted to give my city some proper skyscrapers, not what was in the middle.– Added a little tower on a mini-island to give it some life.– It became a nice landmark when going through the underwater railway.– Destroyed the apartment building to spawn something else. It never did see any use.– I built a tourist building in Arcticu to learn more about the city.– Tourist building next to city hall.
– Sign boards and wool showing who owns what, what railway goes where, and just general information. Was thinking of placing it underground.– Arcticu Map.– Growing Arcticu city. All those structures!View of the remaining land left for Arcticu to be built on.
-People’s embassies being the colored building in touching the mountains.– I tried clearing out a nice chunk to finally bring in one of my ships from the GSFS stories of mine. It never did happen.– My trainstation turned into an airport hub as well, along with a space port. It even linked up to an amusement park. The airport was actually functional.– The cool part being windows for the railway leading to the amusement park.– You can see what was supposed to be a space ship and upwards into the sky.– A lovely interior for a train.– A lovely view below to another below.– The interior the train and airport was actually quite welcoming.– I finally added a lovely protective over-hang.– I finally even forced myself to complete the roofing to it as well.– A lovely terminal.– I finally completed the airport!
– I decided I needed a proper home so I built up Kitsune/Arcticu Tower.– And completed!– Nas gave my airport some lovely planes.– Decided to garden up my city after seeing Perso’s attempt.– I approve of the scenic-ness.– Nas’s Sky Haven HQ with a lovely helicopter.– Decided to build up Busou Shinki Tower for our Busou Shinkis. Wanted to make tables and even start a mod. (this being after a visit to MaoChao town)– I displayed my Ender egg at the city hall 🙂– Nas placed one of the eggs in his space satellite above my city; Above his HQ.– I however accidentally made it fall to the ground.– And into his building.– With Enderchests making their way in I wanted to make a post office for others to play around with.– Post office looking good!– Being inspired by Perso’s Pokemon fun I decided to go and build a village bridge from Pokemon Blac & White.– Tried to beautify a mountain cliff with green to see if it would work. I say it did, if partially.– Village bridge.– On the other side of Arcticu I cleared a swamp for an amusement park. I made a Japanese archery range.
– Archery right next to a subway line.
—–
– Seklet:
Persocom’s desert village similar to my Kyuukon city. Selket was his secondary settlement containing Graffias statue, train station, and everything important.
– Chicken infestation caused by me.– Graffias statue conquering Selket.
—–
– Renge’s Shrine:
I wanted to pay my respects to Renge, a nine-tailed 15 cm tall mechanical fox spirit. She comes from Konami JP’s Busou Shinki line in figure form. I tried to go all elaborate with this to only end up falling short. It connects to Arcticu city with what I dubbed the “Busou Shinki Road”. I was planning to have all the Busou Shinki statues lining the road as a form of pilgrimage with Renge’s 9 daggers all surrounding the monument itself.
– Added Renge’s main dagger onto the shrine.– Weather was being a pain due to an Anvil update.
—–
– Halloween Town:
Persocom wanted to get ready for Halloween with a town themed in Halloween related goodies. All pumpkins and Halloween type props.
– I tried adding something special to the Halloween town being that Halloween tower.– Spotted Persocom working on the laughing moon from Soul Eater.
—–
– Sky Haven:
Nas also needed a place to call home, thus Sky Haven. He was quite shy when it came to building, thus everything staying on the ground. I tried to nudge him upward which failed. His Sky Haven was supposed to be a city up in the sky, everything above mountains and hills.
– Nas’s temp train-station.
—–
– Arcticu – Mining Outpost:
This was nothing all that special. Its only purpose was to supply my city with supplies and to test new mods that came. It was to keep things separated from the main stuff.
– Testing a quarry to see if it would work.Me and Nas built a supply line to feed resources to Arcticu City.– My quarries tearing apart the desert wasteland.
—–
– Kyuukon City:
I founded Kyuukon city in need of resources for the mod side of things. Tried to make it look fancy along with it aimed at foxes, Pokemon’s Ninetales, and anything Pokemon related. It was my second most important city to deal with small mining related needs.
– Copied my Arcticu Mall design to be Kyuukon’s city hall design.– A map of a growing Kyuukon.
– Enchanting building and a factory.– My powerplant that powers Kyuukon.– Far right – Pub & tourist building.
– Road and rail leading to Kyuukon and Arcticu City.– Gorgeous!– A mini-farm to supply some food in Kyuukon.– Kyuukon’s railway network comes right in the middle.– My Pokedex tower. It contains everything within my Black & White Pokedex at the time.– Red torches means I caught those Pokemon.
– Ended up building Elysa’s gym because of B&W2 being announced.-It’s too bad it had to disappear.– Looking awesome!– With a name like Kyuukon it was fitting that it became a Pokemon town.
—–
– Vitu Village:
Persocom’s tribute village for his wife Rianna. Vitu is based on a Busou Shinki type cow(?) for Riiana. It was a small village, though helpful one. It seen the slaughter of many horny villagers that breed like rats, though had numerous tourist attractions.
—–
– Snow Fortress:
Out of absolute randomness I decided to build a snow fortress in creative mode. No real reason except to give some “life” to how abandoned the snow biome was. It needs treasures or similar.
– Just a random structure to populate the frozen wasteland.
– Perso being cute by adding a shroom on top of a support pillar.
– A storage area to contain the goods from the area.– Nas and Ender having a showdown.
—–
– Marion City:
A creative born city meant for releasing some built-up anger and to add fun to the map. Wanted to try testing a few skyscraper prototypes while also adding some fun creative-mode mini-games. It links up both at the pyramid and from Arcticu City by rail.
– Testing out more designs that I just didn’t approve of.– Tried to build a mob arena with the introductions of mob-eggs.– Marion’s mob arena; 1-2 being lobby; 3 being mob arena. Rest were supposed to be different mobs.
—–
– A’K’s Home:
After many months of not building a home I finally did so. I finally built my own home which came in during the jungle update. I even made a cat my pet.
– My home sweet home.
– Even had a pathway to go mining.
—–
– Mao-Town:
Persocom gave land to his little minion to go crazy over. Everything was supposed to be themed in a Maochao theme – A busou shinki theme. It turned into a creative mode mess, but was enjoyable.
– Numerous colored sheep.– A lovely boat.– Building a tower for Kashi after having a “fight” of some sort.– Spamming Ender on each floor. They disappeared.
– Built my home in MC; Top floor being my old home.
– Livingroom– Spare room and kitchen; hard to replicate into MC.– Kitchen p2, again hard to replicate.– Backyard.– Backyard with a gate leading out.
– My room (current; hard to replicate)– My current room (hard to replicate); Missing important stuff.– Perso’s Cherry tree.
– Perso and Kashi both staying over at my current home (tv to right & in livingroom)– Perso wandering into my room.– Perso checking out Gabrine and Renge hanging from the cabinet.– Kashi displayed his in his gifted Mao-Tower from me. Enjoy!
—–
– Homika City.
Persocom founded another city just for Black & White 2’s arrival This town was supposed to be based on the poison type gym leader with her Japanese name, not English one. We tried to build it up as much as we could.
– Perso taking care of a baby chicken in the cauldron 🙂– Me either screwing around with cake or trying to wish Perso a happy birthday.– Perso’s Volcano home.– I ended up building Persocom an airport.
– Perso attempting to build a Golbat plane.
– Homika had its own little bar.ÂÂ
—–
– Other Images Of Interest:
And some other images I didn’t know where to place. Just extra lovely images.
– NPC village near Renge’s Shrine.– Was attempting to transport food back to Arcticu City.
– Flying squids due to server lag.– Nas attracting the attention of three more creepers at Kitsu.– Kohiru was added to the Busou Shinki road.
– Original Arcticu to appear ancient.– Small little outpost attached to Kyuukon for mining purposes. It ended up being unused after.– Came across a stronghold that was oddly enough under Old-Arcticu city.– What was supposed to be the UN building on top of the Stronghold.– Renge being cloned! 0_0– A random standard pyramid I wanted to fill with traps, though didn’t.– Riding a pig around that couldn’t be controlled. It went up the water fall and killed me.– Sagatio carting around while kissing a cow at his home.– Railways linking up everything.– Not really on my map, though it linked to mine and various parts on the map. I used this to represent the Arcticu Empire.– Pissing Perso off by spawning mobs.– Perso gardening and giving me an idea.– Tried building a sky city with it turning into mobs galore.
– It was supposed to have sectors like a flower. It never did work out.– We tried to gather all our supplies for the Nether to only lose it all. We went into creative to fight 11 dragons!– Dragon is exploding!– Persocom ended up founding another town with an ice cream Pokemon.

– Final Remembrance Thoughts:
It’s been a glorious run, but I keep getting tears in my eyes. It’s been such a beautiful map with it feeling as if I lost a very valuable friend. It had a nice run from fall 2011 to about July 18th, 2012. We did so many memorable things, build so many fun things, and even added loads of fun mods to it to the point I couldn’t even have it recovered anymore by my host. Me and Persocom were the two main individuals that built the most on the map. Nas was our shy little helper who rather idle away doing something else. He built things in a shy manner. Nas, were you searching up porn on your computer? I jest! I jest! You however idling a ton!
I had my ups and my downs, so did the members on it. I’ve seen people help me start the map, and those to end it as well on a horrid note. I had Nas and Persocom join me all throughout the adventures. Phaolan was a nice member as well, until he turned into a real dick in the end. He saved mine and Persocom’s online relationship (blogging wise) from a total disaster. I had to apologized to Perso for spamming all those mobs in his towns, same with him for mine. We were smart by apologizing instead of acting like those arrogant people who just tell people off and never talk again. We had a war that ended up being forgiven. However, on the flip-side, Phao stirred up drama, treating everything as if it was his own, and even getting his cousins to ruin future maps. Sorry Phao, but you were an outright ass at the end!
I went from one map to another trying to get the same feeling but I guess we can’t…The only way to do so is to keep going vanilla without it corrupting. And to do that I need Persocom to stop being busy and to come out of hiding so we can rebuild everything from scratch on our new map. I want to rebuild what I enjoyed the most on my old maps onto new ones. I want to rebuild my Renge statue, even build up a new Varakitsu statue. I just need Persocom to hope back on! I feel horrible for all the drama I may have caused on the temp map that followed after our fun. I may have set off Riiana to hate Persocom which I simply feel guilty for, especially with Phaolan being a dick fanning such fires. It all went downhill once the map died from mod-overload.
I’m even trying to get our main map back, but it’ll be as if we’re starting fresh again, a roll-back that will bring us to both the beginning and the current present. We would have to rebuild everything from our images. All those modded memories and glories. I’d rather just now rebuild it all on our new map. Having our main map would however please Persocom so much that I want to get the main map back for him. So Perso, if you’re reading this what do you want to do? I just want to now rebuild what we had on our new map. I’ll help you rebuild on our 1.7.3 map that we made with a friend during 2013. Apologies for that error on our reformed new map….I shouldn’t have MCEdited those chunks. I want to say we should just rebuild in our 1.7.4 map.
It also seems I lost a quarter of my images from the mod update. A quarter of our memories gone…or even half. Those images of my mining outpost, Perso’s Homika gym, his Gouka Industrial area, that library I built in your snowy village, that graveyard I wanted to even build, among others. So much gone that needs to be refound in image form.
Such excellent times! Such glorious fun! I’ll just pretend that Minecraft world timed out in an environmental explosion with us all scattered throughout the galaxy and back onto a new world to colonize. I do hope this one goes well! Trying to rebuild my Empire on new maps just doesn’t seem to be going well, even once on the FTB map we had. I had to kill it because of Bex’s friends leeching things. I’m hoping this 1.7.4 map won’t corrupt so I can finally bring my Arcticu Empire back to its former glory. No more restarts, no more rebuilding…Just one lengthy map that survives for at least 2-4 years. Just something to keep going back to that feels homely.
– A moment of silence to remember Gen 2 Arcticu –
*sniff* – Now to move on and rebuild!

You’ll be missed greatly Arcticu Map! A toast to our 1.7.3+ map! To a Neo-Arcticu Empire & a Neo-Gouka Nation! GAOO! Do hope it lives long and prospers! Kon!
