I wonder if the Tulip Festival’s international Pavilion keeps changing. When I volunteered back in 2008 the pavilion was roughly in an circle or oval shape. Now, the International Pavilion is placed in a rectangular white tent making it a bit harder to allow people to view various national sections. Pictures and video shooting got a bit harder as well. It is still a great place to visit so do check it out! Even if it may seem boring do go check it out as you may find something worth your liking.

Shall we begin?

OC Transpo Slinkies. I miss the old ones from the late 90’s and early 2000’s. The sounds they made during when gearing up/down and the look they had made them the coolest bus in town. I think they were called Icarus?

And the below map is where we are in this article. The middle tent is the international Pavilion.

International Pavilion:

Note: Some people representing their nations didn’t want to be in the shot so I had to try crazy angles to keep them out. Some worked and some just didn’t so pardon the quality in half or some of them.

Russia – Soviet Russia:

Everything was Soviet themed, most likely in remembrance to WW2. I basically saw simple Russia themed content back in 2008.

China:

The Chinese section wrapped around which made it hard to get everything in a few shots.

Not sure, but the giant area appeared to be all Ecuador. I’ll correct this when I find out.

Japan:

The Japanese section was as tiny as the island itself. It was squished with less fun games then the one I remember back in 2008.

People touched the tulip costume, even with that sign saying not to. People just can’t follow rules/instructions.

(Had the 13 minute version rejected from Youtube after 6 hours of messing around with it.)

Hope you guys don’t mind but I really do need a break from all the people blocking the way heh. Went to the Food tent and got myself some Tempura from the Japanese section.

With your back to the Parliament and your front towards the US Embassy – Peru, Turkey, Japan, Portugal, Thailand Brazil and Holland are on the left side; Canada (trailer), Ukraine, unknown (didn’t get a good look), Phillipines, and Mexico to the right. I didn’t get a good look on the right side and will correct this at a later date.

The main tent itself. That tent is a bit too small and should expand just a bit more to allow Slovakia, USA, Greece, Germany, Canada, and others in. This is the international pavilion, join in!

And another snack, nice. I had tea with bun filled with rice and meat. Both of those were lovely, thanks!

I did go back into the International Pavilion to take pictures of Ecuador (above), Japan (above),  to buy the white Soviet fluffy hat (above), and to mess around in the Japanese section. All other foods, missed nations, and videos will be redone  and/or posted in the Part 2. Thanks for skimming, reading, or viewing the picture heavy article. I hope I didn’t kill your internet with this article and hope you enjoyed viewing this article.
