Ottawa Tulip Festival – P2 & Ottawa Tour

Went back to the Ottawa Tulip Festival on Major’s Hill Park to try and add missing bits and pieces from the previous article.  As the Pavilion wasn’t really packed like it was on Saturday I managed to get some decent shots.  As I already upped a few videos I didn’t take any new ones of the Tulip.

(All images were taken with a Lumix GF1 – Pancake lens on a sunny yet cloudy day.)

I’m missing about two or three more Rideau Canal lock pieces – It being used by boats, boats moving around Rideau Canal, and the frozen 720p kind. I’ll up a video when I got all the necessary video pieces and picture parts of this.

And caterpillars were everywhere. Wouldn’t mind taking a picture of them in cocoons or similar.

Mirror Tent:

You must pay to enter the Mirror Tent, or be a volunteer. Buy a “passport” to view the “higher quality” shows from within the large tent. I would of purchased a passport but I think they went for $500 CAD? Insane amount and rather travel for that price.

International Pavilion

The large entrance. I find the layout of this Pavilion highly awkward and lazily placed. The one from 2008 was slightly better. It looked messy but at least it was more spread out. They should try for an oval again.

3i Cycle –

A taxi? I also did a double take on the kid and the camera below.

I didn’t know who this Pavilion section belonged to so I went back to make sure. It belongs to Senegal.

Downtown Ottawa tour – continued….

I feel like a damn tourist in my own city while taking these images and videos. I guess its necessary if I want to show you guys and gals the Ottawa I know of and love ha. This part is aimed at those viewing this from afar, another city, province/state, or nation.

Between Rideau and the Market. Look for an ice cream cone statue next to it.

Enjoy the Beaver Tails next to the A Channel Building.

Canadian Maple Syrup anyone?

Then a glimpse back towards the market area. Also the same view of the street containing the Beaver Tail’s, the touristic traditonal horse rides, A Channel news, the guys with the carts,  and the Canadian Maple Syrup gal.

Not the best of images but added to not confuse.

The part I went down towards the market was this one – Went down this way to video a tour of the market. Also had a 2008 image of this that I never uploaded. Major’s Hill park is behind and US Embassy to the left.

Tulip Festival – Dutchland related:

Stopped by the Tulip Festival to pick up a Dutchy Sausage. What? I wanted to see what made this sausage unique to the Netherlanders. I already had Assorted Tempura, Tea, Perogies, and a rice and meat bun from this event. I had Sushi and Tempura from T&T and even had Beaver Tails during Winterlude.

Don’t worry, I’ll try eating more from the food tent again on the weekend. Too bad Germany wasn’t in as I’d like to show off the Blood Sausage.

Quite appropriate.

And I found this amusing. People randomly placing coins in the hat, it wasn’t even supervised.

And went the other way for more videos, towards Alexandria bridge. I probably should say “next to” instead.

And then a nice big hop to Sparks Street.

More nature hidden within the downtown area. I need to redo these last two shots when its not so busy downtown.

Embedded videos? Not this time as I need get a few more spots recorded. Two more articles of Tulip and one of Ottawa video itself. Ottawa Tulip Festival video on the weekend of the performances, Commissioner’s Park/Dow’s Lake and a Downtown view of Ottawa.

I hope you enjoyed the content on this article and thanks for taking your time in skimming, reading, or just simply looking at the pictures ^^.
