Happy white (not so) Halloween night!

Autumn is quickly shifting into it’s final messy period. Plants are dieing, going into winter-mode, or simply letting go of their leaves. The winds are also picking up causing quite a bunch of leaves to be blown about. Anybody have a kite? It also decided to snow 5 cm the night before Halloween.

Happy White Halloween!

October 28th was more of a summer weather while October 31st NEARLY turned into a White Halloween. Had about 5 cm of snow fall over the Ottawa area after about 5 pm.  The Twitter – #Ottawa – was swiftly flooded with “yuck!”, “eew!”, “Ugly Ottawa snow”, “learn to drive you stupid drivers! Pull over and let us drive!!”, and many more amusing comments. In short, I had a nice long laugh.

I was highly amused by both the snowfall and the twitter feed. I wonder what the feed will be like when we actually get hit by a real 30 inches of snow type snowstorm – *ponders heavily*.

Oh, right! I was supposed to show you Halloween related materials. I asked people if there were any and kept getting the same answer – “Nope, haven’t seen many around this year.” I also went around various neighborhoods and popular areas in an attempt to find decorated Halloween homes. I didn’t see much. Why? Wanted to share the goodies of Halloween in Ottawa, that’s all.

Sidenote: Saw an out-of-service bus with a “Merry Christmas” sign on it, supposedly for the snowfall lol.

And of course, I thought I’d try out some more Japanese meals while checking out the 15 new statues on Preston Street.

For those wondering about the female figure – She’s Kohiru (Chopstick themed), It’s only natural I photo-shoot her amongst Japanese food. She is basically at home in any Japanese themed restaurant. What about the other restaurants? Shinki Merienda – Type Spoon – would work for that, though I don’t have her.

Had Kohiru dress up for Halloween. If I’m not, someone has to.  I still need to get one for the Anime conventions. It ain’t much of a costume, but one meant for Figmas…

Downtown Ottawa:

Thought I’d try exploring the downtown area for any random happenings. I did find a few interesting bits, but I wasn’t able to take images of it over a certain situation. I saw people dressed up as foxes and Dracula walking down along Bank Street while popping in and out of random stores. There was a person with a simple fox tail, a fox  geared up in Robin Hood attire, and some other individuals that I couldn’t make out from the suddenness.

I’ve seen you guys during Canada day as well hanging around the Information Center.

I’ve also noticed random Gothic-clown like individuals roaming around various streets and a kid in animal costumes standing next to the mother at a bus stop. Not much to see in a casual area.

Anybody want Pumpkins? Got a few that are still perfectly fine in the cold.

Ah! Beaver Tails! I’ll wait for the real snow fall to munch on some more crispy tails. I’m glad they decided to show their Halloween spirit, as little as it was.

I took this picture for the snowy mountain view (far back in the image) of Gatineau-Hull. Since the pancake lens can’t zoom I had to fill the image with something else as well.

The Chinese Arch is finally complete (for awhile now) for Ottawa’s China town. I didn’t see a single tourist snapping images, still too new? Whatever the case, it looks nice.

Ah! One of those parking meters ended up getting chilly and got itself a scarf, HA! Going to try some bad joke/puns:

– A chili meter (chili pepper?)
– A chilly meter (cold)
– A meter from Chili? (nation)

Above: Got a better pun for the Parking meter? I know I failed it.

Happy White Halloween!

– Pardon the randomness of it all as I tried to improvise on Halloween related material.

I hope you had fun trick-or-treating, drinking at a party, playing H-games, smoking, stealing candy, giving out candy, playing games, dating, scaring people, pick pocketing tourists, drinking yourself asleep, egging homes, cursing in people’s faces, or whatever else you people might of done a day (or many) ago :P.

Peace!
