Figma Luka Megurine – Vocaloid

Oh? Whats this? A Figma? Yes, I’m still interested in Figma’s, even though I’ve been going Shinki-crazy the past few months thanks to Shinki Renge haha! I’ve obtained Luka from my local AnimeStop on April 27th. I’ve been seeking her ever since she released and had a bit of trouble getting her within my grasp. I’ve been a bit lucky that she hasn’t sold out in the same way as Rider and Kos-Mos have!

Luka Megurine is a musical vocaloid meant for singing. She joins Miku Hatsune, Rin, Len in Figma form, while joining numerous others in plain vocaloid form. Luka is older than the rest and more mature, allowing her to also sing in more “western” (English) accent. Due to her personality, she gained a chibi octopus form and a tuna weapon to bash people over the head with.

The box looks to be a bit plain, and had a mirror background, like Meiyas.

Luka doesn’t come with much, probably hinted by the simplicity of the box and the design. She comes with herself, a smiling face-plate, a three-part microphone stand, A tuna, 8 hands, the typical Figma stand, a peg for the tuna, and a figma bag.

Luka has enough protective plastic pieces invading every portion of her body, and enough to piss off the environmentalists. So much plastic that an average person would of probably shivered and cried “pervert!” if it were to happen to them.

Final thoughts:

Yup, I would recommend Luka to those that haven’t obtained her yet. Everything about her is top notch, with minor flaws that can be easily forgiven. If you dislike Miku’s popularity then getting Luka would be the better choice for you, but only if Rin and Len are sold out everywhere.  Well, unless you want to grow the whole collection. I don’t have anything against Miku, just saying and giving you options haha. Also show your appreciation for music by having her within your collection!

Pros:

– Great sculpting & paint-job. She looks accurate to her vocaloid concept art/art designs. She’s true to herself.
– Posing is easy enough to do without much hassles.
– Lovely tuna with a hollow inside with a strong exterior. The tuna also has a little hole on it’s belly for the stand to poke in.
– The extra detailing on Luka makes her awesome (i.e the moveable belt, the microphone headset, and the bronze/golden boots & trim.)
– Her hair has flexible parts.

Cons:

– Posing is a bit of a hassle with her unbalanced body.
– Hair is mostly a single piece with a few attached flexible parts.
– Her arms can’t reach one another (a common figma problem) like a Shinki’s would.
– Lack of any kind of decent wallpaper background for di:stage use, or similar.

Music is life and life is musical!

Appreciate the music around you, and the songs that Luka has sung for you! Don’t take music for granted or else you may really miss it when it’s out of your grasp!

Peace!
