Busou Shinki Cradles – Black & White

Hello there fellow sleepyheads! I obtained something that might assist both you and my fellow Shinkis in regaining lost energy, basically something that will recharge your empty energy storage. I purchased the cradles from Yokatta Service because you couldn’t obtain the product from regular stores, it was a Konami store exclusive for Japan only. The price was roughly $60 CAD for the two cradles that was released to celebrate a Busou Shinki’s 5th anniversary.

(Link – MySite) – I made a little scratch with scissors and that dent at the cradle image might be delivery damage. Not that worried.

(All images taken with a Lumix GF-1 Pancake lens.)

I was quite surprised as to how small the package was when the Canada Post mail-man brought it to me in a sneaky manner. Stealth-fully delivered the product to the door, yet I got a quick glimpse. From the images I seen I was expecting something bigger. I was worried that I might have one cradle instead of two. Also noticed that they written my product as a “used toy”, random.

The Busou Shinki cradles are charging pads to charge your 15cm tall battle robot after a battle or their “daily” routines. They won’t charge your Shinki, but they do charge the ones in the Busou Shinki universe.

(Link – MySite) – So simple that even a first-gen (live) Shinki could do it.

All we have to do is unpack the cradles and plug them into the nearest USB port on the computer to light up the cradles. After that? Decorate your room with the cradle, pretend you’re a Busou Shinki battler, use them for images, or light up your room slightly with it during the night.

This cradle is basically for those into the Busou Shinki franchise, and for those that enjoy photoshooting their Shinkis with them.

Still the same box. One side is black and the other is white with the same designs and texts. I find it somewhat neat that they labeled the parts of the cradle.

A.D 2036. There has been no world war 3 nor alien invasions. The world has naturally evolved since 2006.

However, robots have now integrated into everyday life and are active in various fields. “Shinki” is a robot figure standing at 15cm tall.

They have their own mind and emotions and they co-exist amongst humans. People allow “shinkis” to equip themselves with an array of weaponry and armor so that they can fight each other.

They fight for their pride to prove their strength, or simply for victory! “Shinkis” that obey their owners orders and go to battle others of their kind are called “Busou Shinki”.

(Link – MySite) – Humu! I did get two after all! They’re quite tiny after all.

(Link – MySite) – Interesting way of packaging the cradles.

(Link – MySite) – White with black seat; black with a white seat. Lets mix and match! The cradles feel light and make a hollow sound.

I feel that these Shinkis could be used to add onto travel blogs to charge your Shinkis upon arrival or departure from various cities or nations around the globe. I can imagine someone pulling out their cradle to “charge” their Shinki upon arrival after photoshooting both themselves and their Shinkis during their adventure. Anything to be creative.

Time to charge my Shinkis properly and to show you how the cradle may be used.

(Link – MySite) – Checking up on Kohiru’s information now.

I know Renge should be classy and all but this is what happens when Shinkis finally get a “good night’s rest”. Sure, not classy but now her thoughts can be stored away safely now haha.

(Link – MySite) – Feels too good to finally sleep properly – Zzzzzzzzzzzz~.

(Link – MySite) – And of course, Kohiru is unsure as to what to think about Renge’s sleeping behavior.

(Link – MySite) – Kohiru wanted to snatch the pillow but a cat decided to sleep on it. Nya~.

(Link – MySite) – Fubuki takes her turn on the pad once Kohiru leaves.

(Link – MySite) – Sharatang kindly booted Renge off which in-turn allowed Renge to photo-bomb my image.

And a quick note on where the Shinkis were made and who made them. Should be obvious.

Extras:

Thought I’d share some extra images from the now extinct Battle Rondo MMO & the new Moon Angel Anime for Battlemasters MK. II PSP game.

Moon Angel:

(Link – MySite) – Kaguya being put to sleep by Tsubasa.

(Link – MySite) – Arnval/Kaguya charging on a store-owned Cradle. Apparently cradles can read Shinki data via wi-fi, or only special store types.

Battle Rondo:

In Battle Rondo you had to either wake up or put your Shinkis to sleep at the cradle. During one full charge your Shinki could either fight in 5 battles, 10 trainings, or infinite simulation battles. They would wake up and yawn while adding uttering something cute or sly, or be put to sleep in a sleepy state. If you try and put them to sleep with remaining charge they’ll question you if you’re sure or not.

(Link – MySite) – Lovely Fubuki snoozing on the cradle.

Final Thoughts:

I consider this a well bought purchase. Sure, it uses a plug-to-light-up gimmick, but it is quite awesome. When displayed correctly the cradle can be quite visually pleasing that you might either accept the gimmick or ignore that it even lights up. I’m quite pleased I got two of them instead of one, and that the black & white scheme looks quite nice. The decals? For those that want to customize the cradle just that bit more. If you want to mod it to act like a hard-drive or to actually read Shinkis is a project for those wanting to bring out further uses out of the product.

Would I recommend the cradles? Sure, if you’re a Shinki fan and an open-minded collector. For those into Dollfies, Figmas or whatever else? Might be a tough sell so might be a “nay” for you. As I said, worth the purchase for a pair of cradles.

Pros:

– The two cradles are visually pleasing with the black & White theme.
– There are two instead of one.
– Decals/stickers with fictional Shinki companies for some simple customization. You may place them wherever you desire.
– The cradle lights up when you plug it into the computer. A simple gimmick, but one you may accept or ignore.
– Two (or more) Shinkis may be placed onto the “seat” area.
– Very light & sounds hollow, best for travels or mobility for blog-related photoshoots.

Cons:

– The LED light gimmick makes this product only a visually appealing one and only for Shinki fans.
– Quite light (weight) and simplistic.
– Depending on your set-up the USB cable may or may not get in the way.

Thanks for viewing!  Have yourself a nice lovely day. Don’t let the bed-bugs bite!
