Rain, rain, SUN! Shana!

Hello again, time to dust this off again and dry up any wet spots after the constant downpour in my area. I decided to get a bike again and see what I could snap images of this time around.

Not much happened except for me obtaining two wall scrolls, playing games, and sitting out the rain a few times. Still have yet to do a photoshoot for my two new figmas that I obtained a few weeks back. The constant rain killed my interest in anything figure related.

Below image is of the Ottawa River from the bike path inbetween Britannia Beach and Andrew Haydon park. For a river it looks more like a lake the more I seem to eye it.

Figma Haruhi – Summer version

Crap, I’m slacking. Well, I got another Figma and this time its the Summer Haruhi version. From the looks of it I shall be taking this Haruhi around a lot. Being a summer type Figma, I also attempted to try out a new way of photo shooting my figures for a “review” (being more of an overview then a review – Saber Lily being the review).

And yes, $44 Canadian dollars…..I’m staring at one of my Figma boxes that says $39.99 CAD. Recession, it sucks either way; real or fake. Also forgot to mention I acquired my first Fate/Stay Night manga, woo! Now I just got to get around to reading it. If you haven’t guessed yet Fate/Stay night is one of my favorite Anime series and what got me into being an Anime view/watcher/otaku (whatever you want to call it).

Figma Ryomou Shimei – First glance

Anybody called for a maid? Went to check out my anime store recently and they didn’t have much, just her and Shana. Ah well, at least I put myself in line for Figma Signum. I didn’t have her and didn’t want to leave the shop empty hande so I grabbed her, paid for her and biked back home. I got her last week on wednesday, but I kind of waited for the “right moment” to review her. Meh, I should of just took pictures of her like I normally would.

I don’t recall ever seeing Ryomou in a maid outfit. Its not like its a bad thing, right? The below images were taken with my Sony W170 Camera, excuse the quality. I should of taken the pictures during the nice warm weather when I had the proper lighting……..

Ottawa – Spring Time#4 w/figma Rin (Vocaloid)

Another great day meaning another great time to take pictures of the local wildlife, as with figmas. This time I decided to bring Figma Rin to see what kind of images I could end up taking by bringing her along.

Well, I missed out on the Ottawa Tulip festival since I forgot when it was going to take place with me currently cursing that I have missed it. So much for looking at the Japanese tent this year :(. Ah well, there is always next year and more events to go to, right?

Before I go on about it, I thought I’d point out some kick ass Pockies that I found interesting again. The Almond type biscuit sticks that I found yesterday in the local Asian store on the other side of Ottawa. Also a teaser image to the next Figma I got that I will eventually do a photoshoot of, Figma #024 if your curious.

Fraulein Revoltech – Bunny Haruhi

Went to my local Anime Store again and tried to find new Figmas to get. My choices for today were

1) Figma Ryomou Shimei.
2) Figma Mikuru Asahina School Uniform Version.

Either those two or the $100 CAD Deformed Saber figure (Link)…….. I can hear my wallet crying already :(. I also saw bunny ear’d Nagi-san (Link). Nice choices but damn, I’ll try getting them online for cheaper (slim chance).

Well I checked out the Haruhi Bunny revoltech and saw one that seemed to be opened and twisted around. I made sure that what I was checking out was as best of a quality before I took one.� She looks cool and in perfect condition, so I picked her up and bought her. She also had a guitar which made me get her over the other two Figmas.

Early Spring photoshoot

Hyello again, enjoying the spring like weather? Oh, you don’t get winter? For those of us that do have to experience 4 seasons instead of two; Spring, summer, fall, winter. Spring is nice since you see things become light green, cool light brown, Cherry Blossom pink, Apple tree bright red and etc. Now I’m just being a smart-ass and stating the obvious so we shall move on.

I haven’t seen any greens yet, but I have noticed the bike path becoming nice and clear for distant biking. I’ve noticed tons of birds coming back and a few bugs popping about (shudders at the thought of centipedes running through his room).

While trying to take pictures of a bird, it started flying at the last moment when the camera was focusing and getting ready for the high quality image part. It mocked me and my camera!

Blog changes – Theme and “mascot”

Well, the previous theme was giving me issues so I decided to switch it to a more simple theme. Also, you may have noticed I changed the blog name from “Eurosubstance” to “Arctic Kitsune” to a little internet persona that was formed on another site (Explained here, and at the bottom).

My previous theme was an eye-sore and this one I got now fits my persona/mascot well. Please welcome our little Kitsune Fox, GS.

I know this should of been in another blog entry but I thought I could make it into a quick wrapping up explanation.
Reason why I was drawn as a (male) Kitsune was because I ended up liking the Anime’s Spice and Wolf, Wagaya no Oinari-sama, Kanoko, and other various fan arts of these kitsunes. I ended up ranting about it on the boards (as with drawing a Fox sword) and have been drawn into an Arctic Fox. My Fox persona is based on Anime and my liking of Kitsune girls.

If you know the Japanese mythology of Kitsunes, then you should know what this one is. The Anime Wagaya no Oinari-sama should be a good example. Now here is to hoping I can give him a proper name, besides Ghostly Substance or GS, and see a shape shifting side to him in the (near) future.

Figma Shana get

Well I did say I got Figma Shana in my previous article. I also tried to do a group shot with all my Figma’s but it proved to be troublesome. Just one tiny little bump on the table and they topple like diminos. I also found a bit of irony while I took (blurry) pictures of them. I’ll explain (what I call) irony further on.

I think I need to do another attempt at a Figma group shot, but here it is:

Petroglyph Madness!

Wow, I’m bad at maintaining blogs. Well whatever, one can do as they wish with one :). This entry will be random and should be in a positive light (compared to that rant I had previously). Whats this madness I speak of? Well Petroglyph comics as well as randomly drawn alter egos in their forum character style being shown in comics in a comical way. Mine as a sprinkle of Anime-ness on it and I view these comics in a Lucky Star kind of comical way :p.

Also look forward a blog entry of Figma Shana and my Figma group shot photoshoot. Since its spring I can finally do proper photoshoots with my lacking picture taking skills.

Shadow Invasion: Gundam mod

Edit:  Since the modding community died for the game so did the mod. I had to kill it since nobody wanted to assist, only ask.  If anybody wants to revive it I can give you some of the models as long as you plan to use it in a mod  and  to give credit to the modeler himself. I tried but nobody took me seriously enough as it was based on “Gundam” so the support was extremely lacking.  Sorry for the hype and hope to see someone else either take it over or to see Bandai-Namco finally making a RTS or Open World game dealing with Gundam.

After 2-3 years of dorment snoozing, I finally brought this Gundam mod back into a brighter light. This mod will take place in the Universal Century era from the Mobile Suit Gundam show up to the War in The Pocket. You will be able to fight it out as the Earth Federation Forces and the Zeons versus each other or the original Star Wars faction in a Galactic Conquest and/or Skirmish.

Figma Saber Lily get – Part 1

Well I finally got this “gift” for Christmas and I must say thats one hell of a small box for something so god damn expensive. I’ve waited since summer and now that I finally got her I felt like doing it in a more holiday style (though my  patience kicked in) and open up the box when christmas is actually around. But ya, impatience kicked in and I took out the doing a photoshoot of it but I haven’t taken it out of its original box yet. I’ll leave the playing and posing to the actual christmas since thats part 2.
