– Alex Fraser Bridge, Delta, B.C. One of my favourite bridges.
This blog posting covers the whole day of August 2nd, 2022. Final day in Vancouver contained a late-night viewing of Vancouver, similar to how I arrived. I left Vancouver in a familiar tone while having arrived confused, and overwhelmed. Everything was foreign while when I left everything was more familiar. I was forced to wake up at 5 AM, otherwise I would miss my flight. Stranded. Left many hours early to catch my flight to Ottawa.
– Reaching the northern side of Delta (Annacis Island).
– Heading towards Vancouver airport around now-familiar terrain.
– Arriving at the departure area.
– Saying our farewells, unsure when we shall meet again.
– Where do I go?! I’m actually confused.
– In hindsight this area was more for international travel. I needed a more domestic area……… I would find this out many minutes later. 20 min? 30 min?
– WRONG AREA! Past self! You’re in the wrong bloody area. You’re not going to Japan yet! You need a domestic booth.
– I asked around twice, was led to a more correct area. Up, and around.
– My flight on the board.
– Some neat decorated areas at YVR.
– Of course you have a Japadog! Shame it was closed upon my arrival. I went for A&W for my breakfast.
Ate some A&W, asked around as to where to go, was led through security. Was directed to go in a few areas.
– Many people. Was afraid someone would nab my Steam Deck in my bag.
– Admiring the view.
– Disney displays.
– Admiring the tribal scenery.
The gate I was seeking wasn’t labeled on the signage. I had to assume where I was going through process of elimination. I had to seek out Gate 52. Gates 50, and 51 were there, just not 52. Weird. I wasn’t the only one lost.
I was seeking out C52. Signage only goes up to C50 & C51. Weird.
– Past me admiring JAL logo assuming I would go through Vancouver. Nearly had! Future me may go through Washington, with ANA.
– Aero Mexico – Sent this to my Mexican Anime buddy.
– My plane coming to the gate.
– Flying on a lovely 787 Dreamliner! WOOO!~ I’m proud to say I finally flew on a Dreamliner. Shame I never flew on an A380.
– My aircraft gated at C52. Now, to wait hours more.
– Lining up at C52. AC342 on a 787 Dreamliner.
The lineup was horrible. Passengers didn’t listen to the staff at all, even refusing to get out of the way. They all stood in a line stupidly, not even allowing airport vehicles (go carts) to get through. Twats.
– Getting all the plane views while I can 😉
– I’m genuinely going to miss Vancouver………
– Window seat! WOOO!~
– Ground grew standing-by.
– Ottawa, the place I’m returning to.
– The route.
– On our way.
– One of these has to be Mount Baker!
– Revelstoke highlight!
– My meal.
– Not bad. Could be worse.
Leaving the B.C Vacinity.
Random Canadian scenery from here on out.
– Video – Cloud focused. Flat clouds.
– Stormy cloud formation? Forming storm?
– Tried taking pictures of cargo ships, I couldn’t. They kept hiding, or couldn’t focus.
– Those clouds.
Entering Ontario:
Nearing Ottawa now.
– Touch-down! I feel this plane came in hot and heavy. It struggled to land, even taking up the whole runway to turn around. Probably instructed to do so.
– Gated.
And that’s a wrap! Was weird upon return having been used to Vancouver life for two weeks. My ears were plugged, I couldn’t hear well, even struggling on many occasions. Everything was sorted.
Two more blog postings left. 1) Bonus 2) Busou Shinki Focus only.
